In this consumer world, why do we need another brand? We don't! We want to provide you with something different, a product that will endure. When we looked at the chaos of the surrounding market, we saw a place for unique yet traditional and above all, quality footwear - values which we take to heart.

The passionate people responsible for our brand are industry professionals who represent decades of expertise in the footwear industry, in both design and production.

We don't just want to sell you our product, but also to listen to all of our customer's needs and suggestions. If you like what you've seen, then get in touch! We aim to provide a service, not just a pair of shoes... We want to build a relationship that goes beyond our product.

Last design

After learning her craft at the renowned Cordwainers leather school, Tilly Noel has been working as a shoe designer since 1997. She worked for several high street shoe brands before bringing her considerable skills and quintessentially British style to Last.

When creating Last's classic, understated footwear, Tilly has had to repress her desire to add design details - but some quirky features have still slipped through. The result? Traditional, no-nonsense styles with the occasional twist.

Comfort is key, too - which is why all the contrasting linings are made of the softest leather, not to mention the cushioned insoles and rounded toes in many of our designs.

Last materials

Best leathers Hide is sturdy stuff - and the top-most layer of an animal's skin is the toughest of all. At Last, we only use the top layer of hide (cheaper manufacturers will use the less durable middle and lower layers).

Men's shoes are usually made from thicker leather than women's - but we've decided to buck that trend, and make our feminine shoes with the more enduring, full-grain leathers associated with men's shoes.

Last construction

There's no point having brilliant design and great materials if the construction is shoddy. One of the Last principles of shoemaking is transparent workmanship. You can actually see the quality - in the chunky stitching, in the way the materials are cut rather than moulded, and in the hand-finished details.
